HOMING: an audio/movement journey for Strouds Run State Park
“homing”- an ability to return to a place after traveling a far distance/ to move or be aimed towards/ to focus attention on
Homing is an audio installation and participatory performance score for Strouds Run State Park in Athens, OH, that considers the role of attention, sensation, and movement in orienting towards land, our non-human companions, and ourselves. Through an audio guide experience featuring reflective and creative movement prompts for different areas near the Strouds Run beach, participants are invited to bring attention to plants, wildlife, and the connections between their bodies and the local landscape.

Homing will be installed in the park from June 1- Nov. 1, 2025, and feature a participatory performance gathering on June [insert date], where participants will have the opportunity to experience the audio guide as a group alongside a small ensemble of performers. Participants can access the guide by following these steps:

3. Bring your phone/mp3 player and headphones with you to the park.
