Service Description
Join us for a guided bike tour starting in the historic village of Shawnee. The tour will begin and end in front of the Tecumseh Theater, from there we will cycle 20 miles though the rolling Appalachian hills and through several coal mining towns with 1,415 ft of elevation gain and a max grade of 8%. Our first stop will be at Snow Fork Creek where we will learn about the water quality of the region and the long lasting effects of the many abandoned coal mines. Then we will pedal to Dunkel Hall to discuss the exciting history of the mines with a member of the New Straitsville History Group and visit Robinsons Cave. Before we leave we will stop by the Moonshine Distillery to learn more about the history of the town and participants will have the opportunity to purchase a bottle. This is a self supported tour, meaning participants should come prepared with water and personal bike repair kits. Helmets and closed toe shoes are required.
