Historical Canal Hike

Service Description

Join us on a historical hike to learn the history of the Ohio Erie Canal in Tuscarawas County. Dan Rice, president of the Ohio Erie Canalway Coalition, will lead a two mile hike along the towpath trail. On this tour, you will walk away with a new understanding of what canals are and what they provided to the surrounding communities of Tuscarawas County. The hike will begin and end at the canal access point in Bolivar beside Fort Laurens Our event will be outdoors, and we will not require masks, but ask everyone to be respectful of others’ comfort levels.The hike will have easy to moderate terrain.
