Service Description

Revisit Nelsonville’s boom days of the 1800’s from George Stuart, portrayed by Bob Garbo. George was an active leader during the coal boom, the canal and early railroad days as well as 1860’s entertainment on his canal boat, the Arizona. In 1879, all his efforts led eventually to the construction of one of the finest opera houses in the Region. Take a tour backstage to see the improvements over time as well as the preservation of original dressing rooms from those boom days of entertainment. A portion of all ticket sales will support the Arts Education Program that provides artistic opportunity for local residents of all ages regardless of income.
