A Ride Through Time: Shawnee
A private 17.5 mile historic bike tour scheduled at your convenience
Service Description
Gather a group of friends and schedule A Ride Through Time Guided Bicycle Tour at your convenience. Step back in time as you enter into what looks like a scene of an old western movie, the village of Shawnee. You will be able to feel the history upon entering the town, this is where we will meet to start our tour. From there we will cycle 20 miles though the rolling Appalachian hills and through several coal mining towns. Our first stop will be at Snow Fork Creek where we will learn about the water quality of the region and the long lasting effects of the many abandoned coal mines. Then we will pedal to Dunkel Hall to discuss the exciting history of the mines with a member of the New Straitsville History Group and visit Robinsons Cave. Before we leave we will stop by the Moonshine Distillery to learn more about the history of the town and participants will have the opportunity to purchase a bottle.
